The California Housing Council, Inc. represents the interests of the largest developers, owners, and managers of multi-family rental housing at the state level. By design, CHC limits its membership to the premier owners and operators of residential rental properties.

The principal mission of the California Housing Council is to foster a policy environment at the state level that is supportive of the creation and the maintenance of multifamily housing in California. Since public policy decisions continue to have a very significant impact on the health and the continued viability of the rental housing industry in the state, the CHC focuses on opposing deleterious policies, such as rent control, and supporting policies to encourage the production of new housing.
